a friend in need

so I have a good friend in the ward who is having a little girl in june or july and they just don't have a ton of money due to school and work. If you or anyone you know has any old stuff you don't need or maybe super cheap stuff you want to sell let me know because maybe I can buy it for a present or something. I know she just needs clothes and mainly a crib. Thanks I am sure most of you can relate to being poor and having kids. Love you all!

Date night with the Tolds and Utykanskis

Well it isn't real cheap but it was a blast! On Friday we went to Tepanyaki in Provo. I had never been there before and it was so cool! After that we went back to our place and hung out and watched a movie, which wasn't that great. Also I have to get a picture on later but I finished my hoodie for my sewing class and it turned out soooo freakin cute! I thought it was going to be just a big ugly sweater but I took in the sides so it is more fitted and then I put polka dotted lined fabric in the hood. Then tonight we went to dinner with Missy, Luke, Mom, Dad, and Jer at wingers. The food wasn't that great this time but it was good company.

Aww the weekend

I am so excited it if Friday! Yes I still have class and work but I am so glad the week is coming to a close. I have been so stressed about my Food Science class which isnt going so well but I did finish my Adolescent Development block class...next class starts on Monday. It has been really nice to finally get to relax a little and get caught up on the homework and studying that is coming up soon. We are going to dinner tonight with Josh and Sha and David and Stephanie. We have cut back on a lot of things lately to save more money but our once a week date night with the friends has to stay. We want to go somewhere that we don't usually go so we will see how that turns out. Nothing else really new in our lives just kicking along in school and trying to spend more time together. Also Jake has been seeing if he can get an internship for the summer or something that will give him more experience so we will see.

To all you mothers...

I know I am not a mom yet but I have always known I would be. A couple of weeks ago I overheard some women talking about how they don't want to have kids yet due to money or jobs or whatever. I won't go into details but I will have to say I was pretty upset. Usually I am at the opposite end being told we have to have fifty babies right now and it is frustrating but I would much rather have that than faithful women talking about how life is over when you have kids. Yes life changes but, as missy would say, but dang if there isn't sunshine. That is the attitude I think we all should have. I am not saying when or how many kids to have but all I know is that my greatest role models have been the moms in my life. So here is to all women especially you moms who work your butts off and even more props to when you have a smile on your face. A special thanks to the great moms in my life: my moms colleen and teri, my amazing sisters, my aunts who have helped raised me, grandmas or nanas, and friends. Thanks for all you do!

Years ago...

30 years ago today two people got married and had a family years later. Little did they know how much of an impact their decision would have on me. Years later they had another son who ended up meeting me three years ago.
21 years later I met that son and my life forever changed.

Jake and I when we first started dating!

2 years ago today that boy asked me to marry him. Little did I know how much I would one day love him.

Just after Jake proposed oh and I said yes

I believe the Brad Paisley song puts it best how I feel:
And now you're my whole life

Now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
Like a river meets the sea,
Stronger than it's ever been
We've come so far since that day
And I thought I loved you then

Just a special thanks to my amazing husband for everything he does! Love you Jakers! Happy Valentine's Day!

Little Update

Man it has been a fun, sad, and amazing week or two. This past little while we have just gotten over our colds (mostly) with Jake's lasting 2 weeks and mine lasting over 3 weeks. I went and saw the cute little niece Annie and my sister-in-law is going to have hers this week or next. Then we had a huge get together with our friends at Chilis. We thought it would just be us, Josh and Sha, and David and Stephanie but we decided to invite everyone else...12 came! We were so excited. We played games and Josh and Shas house after which was nice because we usually do it at our place. Then on Saturday I went to my moms while Jake worked for a bit to help her figure out her new living room that she is going to paint and stuff. Then, Josh and Sha wanted to hang out so they came over later that night. I made homemade oreos. Then yesterday we had Beth and Dallas over for a final goodbye dinner which was fun...until they had to go. She is moving sometime this week and he is moving today. I was suprised how sad Jake was. It is hard because Dallas is a lot like Jer and I think that is why Jake and him got along so well. Beth and I are nothing alike but it never mattered and we could always talk with no problem. After he helped them move some furniture into the moving truck last night he came back in and we talked, and talked, and talked. It was great. I just kept thinking who needs a therapist when you have a great spouse to listen. We didn't get much homework done this weekend but it will have to wait for this week. We also have been contemplating other things in our life so we just got very distracted. Well that is all!
