Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

This Christmas was so much fun. Jake and I got new phones and santa brought guitar hero. We got new movies and games and cute new clothes. The biggest highlights were when we got to talk to jamie and mostly just having a break from school and work. Also it was fun seeing all the nieces and nephews and how excited they were to open presents. Our Christmas will be a lot more exciting with kids instead of jake knowing almost everything he is getting. Well that is all hope you all had a great Christmas and especially hope that you have felt Christ this Christmas in all the hustle and bustle. Merry Christmas!

Dec 09 in summary

This month has been so much fun. We have spent time with old friends and found some new great friends. This month we finished school and Christmas is almost here. We went to Vegas with the Tolds and went to Salt Lake twice: once with my family for the sing a long and once with Beth and Dallas to see the lights (which by the way turn off at 10! Found out the hard way). We also found some great places to eat (mostly Vegas) Jake's favorite Firehouse Subs and mine splitting the teriyaki chicken from Iggys (two full meals by the way). Also Jake helped recorded the second annual Jon Duke Christmas cd so that ought to be just fabulous! It has just been fun and this will be our first Christmas at our own place on Christmas day since last year we drove down from Logan. Life has been pretty uneventful in terms of life changing stuff but just loving life and getting through school! Only one more year and then student teaching and I am done...at least for 10 years probably!

Here are some fun pictures:

Just a little note

Just wanted to post just to say how thankful I am that my Heavenly Father knows exactly what I need. Also I know my life has been thrown off and not exactly what I have thought it would end up like but it has been great and also when I have a righteous desire he almost always gives it to me. That is the benefit of wanting what is good I guess. This week has just truly just been a testimony that He listens to me and is always aware of me and our family. Also I am thankful for my cute husband who listens to the spirit to know what is best for our family. I am sometimes amazed and how mature Jake acts with truly important spiritual things for our family (he isn't always, well almost never, mature but with the important things he is). That is all!

I PASSED!!!

I officially passed my Praxis exam so now all I have to do is finish school! I got 171/200 when you have to get a 159 to pass. Not too shabby for not studying and taking it a year behind every single other person in the test. I also got on the upper end of the average. Usually I don't like to brag but I am pretty darn excited and I get reimbursed for the test and don't have to pay for it myself now! Just thought I would share my excitement!

Griffiths Family Party

Here is a little recap of our weekend with the Griffiths at Nanas house. We had our annual family party and then after we went to Hannah Told's baptism which was really cool. I didn't get any pictures but it was really cool when Dave was confirming her because it did take so long to get her here, they couldn't have kids, there was a different spirit and just knowing how hard it was to get her to this earth that the Lord has some great plans for her.

Missy and I were twinner (well opposite twinners) so cute!

Jake, dad, and Mis just chillin while I interrupt to take a picture

Jake and I at the party but dressed up for the baptism

Recap of Thanksgiving week and Black Friday! Oh and the last couple of weeks!

So this last week we did Thanksgiving at grandma and grandpa Pyne's house then went to Aunt Nonie's house for pies (yummy). I made some super yummy chocolate pies but forgot to take a picture so I will have to make another one later. Then I stayed at Teresa's house to go shopping the next morning. Jake went home and went to Moab with the boys where they broke 2 of the 3 Jeeps! Good thing we didn't go this time. So Thursday night me and Teres went to bed at 12:30 and woke up at 4:05 yes you heard that correct. It was all worth it though I got Jakes 2k10 basketball game from Walmart with lots of good movies but I can not say what movies they are! Some super cute boots...for way cheap with free socks.

I then got my Christmas pjs. I then bought Jake's other game! Wow all in one day! It was great and got lots of great deals. We then went to mom's house and took a 2 hour nap. Then on our way back out of town and Teresa taking me home we went to IKEA for 1 dollar swedish meatball meal. Oh so so so good. I got home then went to see Teri and Mis and got some good food at Chilis and set up some lights at mom's house. The next day was spent watching BYU dominate (well not really but they still won) and spending time with family and the boys getting home.

Lucy and me squished in the car Thanksgiving night to go shopping. There were 8 of us in a small Dodge pickup.
Then we got Netflix set back up on our tv and we have watched tons of movies and our murder mystery shows. I also set up my Christmas tree and it looks so beautiful! We are setting up our other lights later for family night because Jake wanted me to wait so we could do them together. Cute I know maybe he isn't Mr. Grinch! Pictures to follow of the whole place hopefully.

Our cute little Christmas tree!

Jake looks funny!

Jake and I at Trafalga mini golfing..thanks to Tina and Barrett for one free round! Yes we did lose so we had to buy ice cream but let it be known it was my fault definitely not Jakes he got first place!

Tina and Barrett SMILE!!!

I'm Thankful for...

The greatest part about Thanksgiving is when we go around the table and tell what we are thankful for. I love reflecting on my numerous blessings but I hate saying it in front of people (this is where my shy part comes out, and my hating crying in front of people). Also I remember one day as I was sitting in church with my family we were singing "Count Your Blessings" I don't know who said first but my mom and I started having a conversation about how it is impossible to count them so we changed the words to "Name Your Blessings" ( I hope I am not going to hell for changing a hymn, oh well if I do my mom is going with me!) and it really has made me think since then to express what I am thankful for. Also somebody of facebook started a whole thankful everyday thing and said it would be hard by the end of it....well let it be known it is 2 days before Thanksgiving and I still have plenty up my sleeve. So here is my little tribute to maybe the people or things in my life that they may think that they are unimportant but they have changed my way in a small or maybe a life changing way:

-First and foremost my Almighty Heavenly Father. I have been so blessed to grow up in the gospel to know that He cares for me and loves me so much. He listens to my simple and crazy requests because he knows what I need. That leads into my next item is that I am thankful that Heavenly Father put the most amazing man into my life at the perfect time. I am so thankful for my adorable and crazy husband. Sometimes I think our love is pretty normal and nothing exciting but then I realize how much fun we have and how much we laugh. He knows how to make me happy and he always puts me first. He trusts me so much and never questions my thoughts and feelings. I am so thankful for my temple covenants so that we can be together forever and raise a family so they can know that they are a child of God also.
-My loving and crazy parents: Yes they are crazy but I can't say anything I am too. My faithful mother who constantly told me how much she loved me and always showed me through everything that she did. My dad for his constant testimony and deep thoughts that I still love to pry into. Also only the coolest dads will recommend that we watch Steel Magnolias.
-My new mother and father: Who raised some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Also for accepting me so easily into their family and making me feel like one of them. Their constant faith has been an example of how to raise a great family.
-All my siblings who are so great and have helped me to be the person I am today. For teasing me to keep me strong. Also for bringing in some pretty darn cute nieces and nephews!
-All of our great friends who keep us young and for spending some great times with us.
-My old friends growing up, you know who you are, for teaching me who I really am and being okay with yourselves to help me realize who I could become.
-our cute apartment
-My crazy Corolla, Jake thinks it has the shakes but it is still chuggin along.
-Our great jobs that give us the money to do the things we love and teaching us some great lessons in life.
-Wonderful music, especially Paramore, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Glee, Sugarland, and Kelly Clarkson.
-Yummy Food
-the temple
-our awesome ward
-Black Fridays
-naps
-nice clothes
-going to BYU
-that Christmas is coming up soon
-Sister's Night

That is just to name a few. Just thought it would be appropriate since Thanksgiving is coming up.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

A little tribute to one of the most amazing ladies I know

As most of you know it is my mother-in-law, Teri's birthday. She is turning 29 and still looks fabulous (yes she was very, very young when she had children). I am just making this short but I figured Thanksgiving coming up and it being her birthday I should write a short note about this amazing woman. When Jake and I started dating I met Teri only 2 days after we became a couple I guess and 5 days after we went on our first date. I told Teri not too long ago that my first impression of their house was frightening because they had a sign on their porch that said to please take off your shoes and they have a gorgeous front entry. This worried me because my family is more laid back. When I walked further into the house I went into the "Pyne" room and realized that this was definitely home. Ever since that day Teri and the rest of the family has done nothing more than to make me feel at home with them all. I have never felt like an outsider or not wanted. I have heard so many horror stories of crazy in-laws, especially mother-in-laws, but I can honestly say I have the best mother-in-law! (Even if she won't say she loves me! Just kidding I know she at least likes me!) Love you Teri! Thanks for Everything!!!

Further Evidence I am Crazy

So the test on Saturday went pretty good. I am not too worried because if I don't pass it I still have a year and a half and this one was free so it is alright but I have to tell you aboout my rediculous story. If you may not have noticed (I didn't until I got married) my first and last name are similar...you don't think so...let me show you lYNEtte pYNE. Therefore, 3/4th of my last name is a lot like my first name. So about 11pm the night before the exam I realized that I misspelled my last name so it was Pynet (I was trying to write my first name apparently I haven't gotten used to my last name, can't blame me only a year of Pyne and 21 years of Lynette. So I get to the test and it was a HUGE deal. They were telling me that it will probably be okay but I had to wait to the side and then I had to talk to the director so at this point I was freaking out...then she said oh okay just fix it online......THAT IS ALL!!??!! I was so realived but thinking in my head what the heck? I understand because it is nationwide testing but it was actually quite a crackup.

The rest of this weekend was a blast. My sister, Lucy's 26th b-day was yesterday and we had a girl's night on the town while Jake worked on the Jeep at papa's house. I went there right after the test and we went shopping. Got a fabulous skirt from downeast for $12!!! (All clearance is an extra 50% off!)

Then Big Star jeans which are supposed to be over $100 for $8!!!!! Then we went to Sherman Kendall's (where she went to beauty school) and we got a mini pedi and mini mani for $11! Then we met up with mom and dad and went shopping some more and I found a better coat for only $60 and so I am taking back the Cabela's one I got a while ago. I also found Jake a fun little something and my mom got some cute onesies for me because I am trying some applique shirts. Then we went to Aunt Nonie's and she got us Chinese and then we went shopping some more. We got my cute cousin some baby clothes because we found some for $.99 so of course I had to get a few for that price and for how cute they were. Once again I laughed at my sister because she isn't even pregnant but she was buying all kinds of baby stuff but it will probably be soon so I can't say much. Then we went back and Nonie had ice cream where I decided to have a banana split and a rootbeer float (bananas, ice cream, and rootbeer) which is super good by the way. Then drove home and got to see my amazing husband.

It was such a nice weekend and so nice to just spend time with the girls. Then tonight I went to Lucy's for dinner and for cake and ice cream and then got to see all the nieces and nephews.

Oh goodness...

Today was crazy. I had my interactive lit but it went really good. The only things I struggle with are my words. I like to say that I am giving a choice but there isn't a choice...my bad! Other than that last night I could not sleep at all. I was tossing and turning and then looked at my phone and it was 5:20. I was seriously so nervous and I don't know why then as soon as I got in the seat to read the book I was perfectly fine! It went so well and went smoothly for the most part. I am just so thankful that my Heavenly Father will listen to my silly prayers some nights when it may not seem important to some one else He knows that this is what I need to get through the day and make the most of it. Thank you!

Praxis/Illustrated Talk/12 Page Research Paper on School Vouchers

This is my week or next two weeks. To start off I am taking the Praxis exam on Saturday. For those of you who don't know it is a pricey little 2 hour test that basically says you are smart or too stupid to be a teacher. So after Saturday we will know if I am smart enough. I can take it again but it is a little pricey to take it too many times. I am not in my program too far to take it but this is the last test that the school is reimbursing the money for it.
Secondly, I am giving my illustrated talk. You ECE majors probably know what this is but it is me reading a book to the preschool and then we do an activity to relate to the book. We are reading the book Silly Sally. I think it will be fine but I don't know why I am freaking out! I love working at a preschool and working with kids but as a class I have a really hard time. Maybe this sounds cinical but I have a hard time with the preschool teachers because professionals are WAY particular on how to talk to the kids and every little thing on managing the kids. I do a really good job but being judged on every little thing I say seems really weird because talking to little kids just comes easily to me...I guess we will see.
Last of all I have my 12 page research paper due just before Thanksgiving break which is actually nice because it was supposed to be due on Monday!!! I have about 2 pages done and most of the research but it is going pretty good just need to put it all on paper now. I used to be so biased against school vouchers being as I would be a public school teacher probably but as I have read more it has made me realize that they can be great but really how much should the government get involved and spend extra money on.
Well that is enough about my crazy life going on just school and work and to have a nice Thanksgiving break coming up!

Halloween!

I know some people may not care for Halloween but I love it and thankfully Jake is a good sport to dress up with and he came up with the idea...Popeye and Olive Oyl and here are the pictures. We went to Jonathan Hudson's house on Friday night and then on Saturday we went to my parents Trunk or Treat and saw all the kids and then to our ward party and then back home. We wanted to do something with Josh and Sha but since she got bit by the pig last week we decided to wait a little while longer to hang out so we played Halo on XBOX live. Then when our friends Beth and Dallas got home from the U game they came over and we watched The Shortcut (scary movie in honor of Halloween). It was way fun!

Today was Stake Conference at the Provo Tabernacle. I got a quite a bit out of it but I have had a lot on my mind lately so it was hard to focus :S All in all it was great now off to watch Extreme Home Makeover with the hubby. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Wednesday...the most boring day of the week...yes but exciting

It is Wednesday, yes I know how boring it isn't even close to Friday. Well this Wednesday I have done so much this week like register for next semester, take a test, done tons of homework, and found our Halloween costumes (only a little bit left to do on it) and the crazy stuff is now down for this week...therefore, I have the rest of the week to just have fun and get ready for next week. I do have one more assignment for stats but other than that I have my foods class today (yum!) and preschool tomorrow. Then I am off of school on Friday and working more and then we have our Halloween party with the kids then the party at our friends that night. Saturday trunk or treat at moms house then our ward party. I love Halloween...except the fact that we wanted to be some things that may have been inappropriate so we thought that may not be a good impression on our ward party :S I am excited though. As of now we are going as Popeye and Olive Oyl I will post pictures. The only thing is we can't find Jake a hat or pipe so we might have to make one up. Well that is all I better get to my class and then off to make some yummy food!!!!!!!!

Ode to weekends

It is finally Friday! I am so excited. I just finished my stats homework and not I am free at least for a couple of days. This week I started working at the BYU preschool so that will mean at least 4 days with little children every week and that is without having some of my own! I am really liking it though. Also I had a crazy hard test this week. Jake has had one and two on Monday so basically no time to do whatever we want.

I am super excited I am making my kitchen have some orange splash in it so I will post some pictures when I am done. Also it has been nice now that we know we will be staying here for a while because we have put tons of pictures up and made it really feel like home. I really love our place!

The last thing is that Jake found out what I was getting for Christmas because he said we should get Guitar Hero for Christmas for our family and he said he was going to buy it so I was in a pickle so I told him. Well that will be our family Christmas present and I will find something even better though. Oh well I will get something freaking awesome!

Well that is all! Peace out!

Weekend Alone

Jake is finally home! Well he was only gone from Thursday morning until today but Thursday night was officially the first night I have slept my myself since we have been married. Before I had either gone to my parents or had stuff going on but not Thursday. I sound like such a baby and I know it will happen again. I try to play it off like I am little Miss Independent and I used to be but Jake changed that. I love him taking care of me and him going to bed with me every night. Other than that he had a fun trip and I had a great weekend.

I went up to my mom's house yesterday and saw Teresa and the girls and then went over to my friend Erin's house warming party come to find out they didn't buy there place they are just renting (where are my presents then?) which I thought was kind of weird but I think it was just an excuse to have a party which is cool., Then we left early because they are kind of some partiers. I then went to my parents house and talked with mom and dad. The next morning we helped my aunt Dot move and then went garage sale shopping. I got some super cute pants (free!) from Gap, a cut deco pitcher I think I will put some flowers in, tennis balls, super cute necklace, cute little halloween decoration, and some sheet music. Not too bad but it was way fun. Then I went out to Nick and Lucy's for dinner which was fabulous then brought some home to Jake who just got back home. Now a night of watching tv and just hanging out. It is nice to have noise in our apartment now and not just turning on the tv by myself so it wasn't silent. Just wait one day when I have kids I will be dying to have a little silence but as for now I am glad Jake is home to have a little noise.

Lazy Sundays

So today was such a great day. We went to my cousin Katie's little baby's (Avery) blessing. They live just way close to us so my family came over to our house for a little bit. Mom showed me how to make some easy bread and then we made cookies to go to the "afterparty" (which everybody loved" thanks to missy's great recipe! Then afterwards we came home and I took a little nap...did I mention it was 3 1/2 hours long!!! I don't know why I slept that long I wasn't even that tired. I think this whole waking up and being to school or work by 7 am is really getting to me especially since I have been at Lone Peak for whole days on Tuesday and Thursday. I hate taking that long of naps because then it seems like I have wasted so much time. Gay! Oh but the trips to Lone Peak have been great and also on Thursday Jared texted me during lunch seeing what I was doing because he wanted to come see me. How nice! Then we saw Jesse and they both showed me off to their friends like I was the coolest thing ever. It makes me feel good when my little brothers think I am pretty cool. They are such great kids. Well that is about it but here comes a crazy week coming up with a presentation, my proposal for my research paper, and a massage on Saturday with mom because Jakey will be in Moab (I don't think he would have wanted to come anyways!). Well that is all. Signing off until next time!

Another weekend at the cabin

Since it was October conference we then again went up to the Pyne Family Cabin. It was actually really good. I love the cabin but by far my favorite part is the little bit of a drive that we take where Jake and I just get to talk. It is so nice to talk and have no distractions. We talked a lot about what our plans hold for us like a family, school, and work. Every time I talk to Jake I love it because he wants whatever is best for our whole family not just us now but for our future family also. He just amazes me at how much he is aware of all of our needs. Love you Jakers!

Last of all just wanted to talk about conference and what I really liked was how they talked about service. It made me realize that to get the best of service and to make this world better you serve just to serve not to expect something in return. The thing that Jake really liked was how Elder Holland talked about the Book of Mormon. He stated that some people may say that the Book of Mormon is fake and of the devil and that Joseph Smith is a liar, but when you think about it why would Satan make a book that makes God sound so good and teaches us to be better? It doesn't make sense it has to be TRUE! Also is wouldn't make sense to have Joseph Smith lie about such a great thing that brings people closer to God. Well those were my highlights. Please add your favorite part of conference in comments it would be good to hear them!

Teaching...

Oh my goodness! Yesterday was so busy but I loved it! I have a class this semester and we get to go out to a jr. high and high school and we get to help the teachers, make bulletins, and whatever else needs to be done. Well yesterday was my first day at Lakeridge Middle School (right by UVU). It was so much fun! This may sound lame and awful to some of you but I loved it. We made the cutest bulletin board, helped the teacher grade and watched kids cook and they were so cute and gave us extras of their cake and cookies. I was just thinking to myself (and this sounds lame but...) I know this is what I need to be doing and that I was born to be a teacher. It is crazy but I was just so excited at how much I love it and how great is that to have a career that you love. Not many people have that. Well when I get pictures of the kids or bulletin I will for sure post them I have 2 more days at the middle school and 3 at the high school!+

Why BYU?!?

Sometimes I think I am surrounded by a bunch of self-righteous crazies, then sometimes I realize I am one of them, then sometimes I realize how truly blessed I am to go to BYU. Not only am I getting an amazing education and that I have so many opportunities that people in other countries can only dream about but sometimes I realize how great it is...like yesterday...when the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints came to talk specifically to us. I thought I would share.

We started off singing my favorite song: I Stand All Amazed

Then He started talking about how times are hard but we will make it through

He then went on to talk about all the prophets that have lived during his time:

Heber J. Grant-started welfare program and if he had a motto it would persistance!

George Albert Smith-His quote was "There is a war against the Lord and Satan. Stay comfortably on the Lord's side." He would say to be compassionate!

David O. McKay-"True Christianity is love in action." His motto would be to be considerate!

Joseph Fielding Smith-He was a great scholar and his motto from Alma was "wickedness never was happiness." He would say to be studious!

Harold B. Lee-"Stand ye in holy places and be not moved." He would say to be intune and responsive to the spirit. I love how he say to be responsive, not just listen.

Spencer W. Kimball-He believed that obstacles are opportunities. He used to wear worn out shoes with holes in them even to nice meetings and the temple and he said that his life was like his shoes to be work out in the service of the Lord. His quote was to "lengthen your stride." His motto would be dedication!

Ezra Taft Benson-"What manner of men ought you be? Even as I am." His motto was love!

Howard W. Hunter- His motto was courtesy and to look for the best in people!

Gordon B. Hinckley-"And now, after the many testimonies that have been given of Him, this is the testimony last of all, that He lives, even on the right hand of God." His motto would of course be to do your best!

He then ended and said that his story was not written yet but that we can learn from previous prophets and realize that they never wavered, they were persistant, and dedicated to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then the part that struck me the most is that no matter who was look to or follow there is another you can follow, even the Lord Jesus Christ for He said come follow me! We must invite Him in!

Well that is why sometimes when you think something can't really be so great it is truly a blessing in disguise.

Just my own experience...when we were in Logan I was asked to talk on the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley. I love President Hinckley but I am so glad that President Monson is now our prophet. He truly knows what the Lord has in store for us and he loves us so much. I leave my testimony that the Lord knows us and wants all of us to succeed even in these hard times. He knows our needs and He has a plan for us. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

To Work or Not To Work...Not Work For SURE! Just Kidding!

So I was just curious thought I would throw this out there to ask your own opinions or experiences. Jake is wondering if he should not work during school or just work a few hours or should he work a lot so we can keep saving money. He is getting stressed out but we don't want to be broke too. We could do it without working and just working in the summer but is it the smartest thing? Just throw me your ideas.

Here is a tribute to breaks!

I want to just say how nice it was to have Labor Day. We just chilled on Friday night and then met our new neighbors who were in our ward before. I think we found some fun new friends! Then on Saturday we went to the cabin and stayed until last night. It was so fun fishing, sleeping, eating, going to church (they are a different breed in Fairview but so nice) and listening to the half our testimony of a woman and using a hymn book to prop up a head that was sleeping were just a few of the sights. It was so nice. Back to classes and especially late tonight because of my work class that I have to go to until 9:30pm but I really do love school sometimes it just seems long. I am really excited though because I have met a lot of new people this semester and super fun people. Oh yes one last thing my cute husband has his first intramural football game tomorrow night which I am so excited for! I know we are married and people think we should just being with each other and not hang out with other people (I guess that is what most people think that married people only do those things and they get boring) but not us! Jake is very perticular on us being young and still keeping in touch and so this is another way of doing that. It really is fun especially because a lot of our friends are married now but we aren't old and we still have a good time! I love being young I am not going to lie!

Swiss Days and the start to my Labor Day Weekend!

I have the best mother in law ever...So here is the story. Missy and Teri were going to Swiss Days with the girls but of course I had work and then a class at one so I couldn't go with everyone but my mother in law called me and said that if I drove up she would go with me later in the day also. So today I called her after class and after 5 hours of being up there already she met me to go again. I was so excited to go but afterwards (2 hrs.) I was so exhausted because I left for work at 6:30am. The next thing I have to show is my new picture that I bought. I have wanted a big panoramic picture of the Manti Temple but due to money restraints and not much space I found a really nice one for a lot cheaper and smaller. I got it for 20 bucks! I was so excited. They had so many cute things. Oh and for those of you who don't know Swiss Days is like a big swapmeet (but nice) or farmers market (without the farmer part) in Midway, Ut up by my sister in laws house. I have gone there since I was a kid but I haven't been in a while so it was so nice to go.

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!

So here is the deal I had my schedule all figured out and I was taking Calculus I because intro to Calc wouldn't fit into my schedule. I kept wondering why the heck I should take this for my major....after almost a week of class I felt so lost and super stressed. I got some of the concepts but I kept thinking why should I have to take this. Talking to some people they thought the same thing...what do you know...I don't have to! I talked to a teacher who teaches the lower level and she said that I could take stats instead which will be so much easier. Well tonight is my first class so wish me luck! Then I got a call about an hour after talking to the Math 119 teacher and I accidentally grabbed her planner! It is the basic BYU planner so it was obvious why I did. She found my name from my class role and by looking at my picture which has changed because I had long hair and today I had it up. For some reason the number on my profile was Jake's so she called Jake. Low and behold I got it back to her and I am signed up for my new class. Jake got a kick out of it! He said that it made his day so I guess it was worth it!

End of Summer 2009

Jake and I

my first time wakeboarding!

So we just got back from our final kick off of the summer...Lake Powell. Well actually this was our one big kick off to and after the summer. We had so much fun. We went and stayed on a house boat with the Tolds. It was Josh, Sha, Dave, Belinda, Hannah, Jake, and I. I also went wakeboarding for the first time and it was a blast but man am I sore. I went kneeboarding and extreme tubing too. I just wished I could have skiied maybe. Oh my gosh was it fun! Well school starts tomorrow. I may sound like a chicken but I am super freaked out. I feel like a little kid going to the first day of middle school. It is probably because I had a little hiatus from BYU so it will be interesting to get back into it. I am excited because my boss is working with my schedule though. It will be so nice. Jake finishes his internship the middle of September and he has loved it. I am so glad he did it because he likes it but he has realized that it isn't always about the money but about loving what you do. I don't think he will work for a big corporation again even if they do offer him a lot of money. I am very proud of him. I am just glad that he has more strength and he will be providing for our family because I would have a really hard time if I made a lot more money and choosing what I really love instead of money. Oh yes and we just got internet hooked up so there might for me to say lately.

Pictures of the last couple of months!

Here are just some random pictures that I have taken. It has been a while!

Race for a Cure-May 2009
Jesse, Katie, Meagan, Nana, Papa, and Ruby

The Whole Clan in Salt Lake City

I kept telling Jake that we needed to take pictures of our place in Logan and just whenever to show our kids. These were from all of our "dates" in Logan or should we say Jake had to go to plays and concerts for his class so I went and we called it a date. Hey that is what happens when you are poor college students. It really was a blast.

Once again Jake with his crazy faces. I wonder if some of them he means to?!

For all of you who get grossed out close your eyes for this one. We just found this picture of Jake's back from his surgery last August. It has been almost one year of recovery. Yahoo! He is doing great and it is crazy to see the difference of his scar. You can hardly see it...but part of that may be because of all the hair! Don't tell him I said that. Just kidding it isn't that bad!

Well I believe that is all. We will keep posting. This week is shopping in Park City, family dinner, and family moving from California. Crazy week!

Life in the Pynes

Well this has been such a fun and crazy summer. We have gone to the cabin a couple of times and more to come. I also ditched Jake to go to California for my cousins wedding. We have had to buy a new washer and dryer and air conditioner but we are set for a while. We are saving our money for the next school year because who knows what this next year holds. Also we found this cute little house that we want by Jeremys that I know we can't afford and even if we could Jake says we can't buy it because it is in Provo (even though it is only 3 streets away from us now). We just are happy to be where we are today in our cute little apartment that we are all the way settled into. It has given me more space to do crafts and Jake to do his music. Well that is about it for now. I was putting on pictures this morning but then I realized I brought the wrong cord...hey at least I tried. Hope all is well for the rest of you. We are doing well and loving life in the Pynes!

YAY!

Good news Jake started his new internship! He is really liking it even though it is just training and stuff for now. Oh and I just got back from California from my cousins wedding it was such a blast. We went to the beach and ate lots of good food...aka In-n-Out! Then we stopped in Vegas and did some shopping. Got some great deals at the swapmeet too! Oh boy do I love swapmeets. Well that is just a little update. Now I am off to go to work and the fireworks tonight...and the cabin tomorrow!

Life is great!

These last couple of weeks have been so crazy but so much fun. Yesterday I went with my aunt Karen to Wendover to see Frank Caliendo the comedian. It was so funny. Oh and I had to try gambling for the first time since I am 21. I spent a whole $3!!! I know now that I could never be a gambler. It was fun but I really don't care too much for it. We are now planning our trip to California for my cousin Brittany's wedding! I am so excited. Oh and I started a new job a couple of weeks ago and I am working at a daycare. I am really liking it and everyone keeps thinking it will make me baby hungry and it is doing the opposite but all the kids are so freaking adorable. Well that is my little update on our crazy little lives! Maybe I will finally put up pictures soon.

ONE YEAR...and lovin every minute!

This weekend was so great! It started off with me getting off late on Friday and being stuck in traffic but we finally made it down to Manti to celebrate our one year anniversary. Some people may think why Manti...well we got married there last year and had our luncheon there and they gave us a free night stay in a little cottage. It was expired but they let us go anyways. I was a little nervous of how small or whatever it would be but it was super nice. They had a little kitchenette there with cider and cheesecake and a jetted tub (I didn't use though..no time!) sad! Then we finally got there and just watched tv and ate our cheesecake and just did nothing! It was nice! Then the next morning we got up early and celebrated our one year at the temple we got married in. It was my first time doing a live session and it was so amazing. I love it there everybody is just so relaxed and since it was so early there was hardly anyone there. The ladies were so sweet helping me through. Then we got done early so we just stayed in the temple for a while and we saw the famous spiral staircase. It was just the perfect thing to do to really help us realize how great we have it and how lucky I am to have Jake for Eternity! We then got done there and drove through Ephraim which was where Jake and I met and then we went to meet the family in Fairview at the cabin and we all had a blast. Two of my favorite places in one weekend! It doesn't get better than that. Since it is my one year I have to just say a little about Jake because I have really been thinking about him this weekend of course and how lucky I am. The things I love most about Jake are that he is funny...he can be romantic but he always gets me laughing and that is way better than any roses. He is sexy..of course I think so. He is thoughtful...ever since we got him an xbox he has been feeling bad about how I don't get as much so for our anniversary he gave me a coupon for a cricut machine when they go on sale or whenever so I am super excited about that. He also got me our favorite movie. The last thing is that he is a good person. He knows who he is and how to treat me. He holds his priesthood sacred and he is keeping me in line when I get stressed out or upset. He knows how to lead our family to where we need to go and I am so excited of where our lives will take us with him by my side. Love you Jake!

All moved in!

Well we are all moved into our place now and we love it. Now just getting to our second bedroom will be a slow moving process. Everything went great and it was not hard at all! This week I have to find a job, probably get some food in our empty fridge, and go to hole in the rock on Wednesday. Then Saturday we have the Race for a Cure and the mother's day luncheon with the girls and then party for the rest of the time I guess. Well if anyone is down in Utah County give us a call and we would love doing something! It is nice to be back though. I love Logan but this is just home!

Nearing the end...

So finals will be over soon and we will be moving. A special thanks to my amazing family who will be helping us move. We are moving on Friday and my momma is coming up tomorrow with my aunt Chris to help pack and clean. Then my other mom and dad are coming with all the boys to help pack up. They have been so great especially Jer for helping us look for apartments and packing up without even a question. So we are almost done only 2 more finals tomorrow for me and 2 for Jake this week. But on a side note I have to tell you what I have been doing on my free time, or the time I should be studying but I am not, I have been obsessed with the band Paramore especially since Jake got me their cd for my birthday so you have to see these videos and listen to her amazing voice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc3hKUwyGSg

and my favorite song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KKfSL_Tw20

I understand if you don't really care for their music because I usually don't like punk but I love her voice. Jake is determined that we play some songs like this and I sing. Probably not I will just have to dye my hair.

Well that is all. Just thought I would add a little something on her since we may not have the internet for a while. Oh yeah any suggestions for cheap internet? We have to get it installed in our new apartment. BYE!!! :)

Nearing the end...

So we are nearing finals, no more class, and moving out of Logan. I am a little mixed on my feelings. I came with a smile to Logan but really didn't want to but I was being supportive. I still don't love Logan but I have come more and more fond of it and Utah State. I told my FACS teacher the other day that I was moving back to Provo and BYU and she was so sad to see me go. I love that about here is that since I am in the program now all my teachers know me (except my crazy chem teacher). It feels good that we are moving back and I know it is the best thing but you know when you just finally get settled in even if you don't absolutely love something it is hard to move. Jake and I laugh and just say this was our little trip to Logan. Not the best vacation spot but there are definitely some things we have learned. I have enjoyed having more time to my husband. I have learned that Jake is so great at schoolwork and he is so much more determined than I ever thought. We have become closer by going to the temple more...sticking to my goal! I have worked out more because I work late nights at work and so when the girls go to bed I do some exercises. I have been working at this crazy job which I would have never gotten if we didn't move which drains me and then lifts my spirits and wants me to be better each time I am with those amazing girls. I have been inspired by Sarah who has some disabilities but she still goes to the temple for at least 6 hours a day 4 days a week. Ardis who is such a sweetheart and Spring who's laugh makes me crack up. I have learned so much from the Institute class that Jake and I are taking and how great it is to go back to the place where we first met...well it isn't Snow though. It will be hard to leave but I can't wait to be close to friends and family again also all the new opportunities that will come into our lives.

YAY...

I am so excited for this weekend. We are going to dinner with all the family for Jake and Missy's birthday at Red Lobster. We will probably do some shopping after and maybe stop by the mission reunion. Then we have conference all weekend. I am really curious how it is going to be since all the hard times and divorce rates going up and every body is struggling. Then I am going to girl's night at Deseret Book with my mom and sisters while Jake goes to priesthood. I am so excited and then my dad is making breakfast on Sunday with all the family. Life doesn't get much better than my dad's breakfast. Well that is all oh but I just have 2 more tests before we leave! Oh well we are almost to freedom!

April Fools Day

Well I thought about doing some pretty funny april fools day jokes but what would I say...I am pregnant? No that one has gone around about me before. I am moving to Nebraska...no because we are moving (not Nebraska) and so they wouldn't believe me so I figured I would just put up some jokes or tricks so here you go. Happy April Fool's Day!

Q: Why did Frosty the Snowman want a divorce?

A: He thought his wife was a flake.

Yo mamma's so fat, she tripped on 4th Avenue and landed on 12th.

Yo mama's so ugly, she made a blind kid cry.

A blonde wanted to sell her car, but couldn't find any buyers. She called her friend for advice, and her friend asked her how many miles she had on her car.
"235,000 miles." Her friend told her that was the problem. But the blonde's friend told her that her brother is a mechanic and could put back the miles to whatever she wanted. So the blonde went to the mechanic and told him to put the miles at 40,000. Two days later the blond's friend asked her if she sold the car since her brother dropped the miles. The blonde told her, "Why would I sell the car? There are only 40,000 miles on it!"

Hope you had a good laugh...have a good day! :)

Okay I got the deal of the year!

So I found out last night that Shoe Carnival was having a sale because they were opening some new stores. I needed new running shoes and they had 60 dollar skechers for 22 bucks so I was like "HECK YES!" So this morning I left an hour early and Jake was laughing at me but he wasn't laughing when I got home. So I was a little early and I was the first one there but oh well. So I was one of the first 100 customers so I got a $10 gift card. I also had a $5 coupon from the ad. Then they had a hula hoop contest...I WON! So I got $50 bucks!!! So then I bought Jake some Saucony tennis shoes on a major sale and got me some cute church shoes for 17.50 (buy one get one half off). Then I got my skechers that I wanted to go running in....

GRAND TOTAL: $10.07

I think I about crapped my pants. I was so excited. Just thought I would share my exciting news with everyone. Needless to say Jake was not laughing!
