What Makes a Good Dad...

Last night Jake and I were talking about lots of things like me staying home, our parents, crazy family members and much more. One thing that we got on the topic of was looking for someone to marry (well us finding each other). Jake has always said he wanted someone like his mother. Now Teri and I are not the exact same but there are so similarities and I think that is why we get along so well. It always makes me feel so privileged that he would think that of be because I absolutely think the world of Teri. This led to where I am getting to though. I always knew that I wanted someone like my dad: a strong worker, fun, outgoing, doesn't care what others think, loves the gospel, loves his family, a go-getter, and much more. Well of course Jake has all of these qualities but the wow factor with me that Jake has and that I saw when I was dating him came from another amazing man...Jeff. My father-in-law is the ultimate example of service (him and grandpa), loves his family like nothing else, the gospel, the scouting king, works his butt off, has a silent thoughtful side, never judges, and much more  also. When Jeff was young he often went to church by himself and from that learned to love the gospel. Because of this love for the gospel that he passed onto his kids, Jake has become a lot of the person he is today. When many people wonder if they should go to church today or accept a calling Jake never hesitates. Thanks to the attributes of these two amazing men Jake is going to be an amazing dad. I could not have asked for two better me to take qualities from. Thanks for raising a great son, Jeff and dad thanks for showing me the amazing man that I always wanted. Thanks also to all the other amazing men in our lives. We love you all!
