This month has been really fun and pretty crazy. I think that is how everyone's summers are though.
First off we had another ultrasound on Tuesday and everything went great. They wanted to just check the size and the profile. They said she is exactly on track like before with a size to be due November 3rd which is a few days past my due date but she is just smaller so they are still sticking to October 29th as my due date. She is 1 pound and 9 oz! Weird to think that I have that big of a baby in my stomach. Also I have gained 9 pounds which I am supposed to be at 13 or so but he said that is normal. It is nice to know that she is gaining weight because it means she is growing and also it means that I am not just getting fat. My baby is approximately in the 33rd percentile but who knows. I am still a little hesitant because I was a fat baby when I was born. Other than that I am now officially 26 weeks! That means 14 weeks left to go! I am excited it is getting closer but I keep thinking that I might need more time to get everything ready and seeing as we don't have a house yet, it makes it a little complicated. Hopefully we will be getting news this next week since they sent paperwork in for a final approval on price.
Not the greatest picture because of my phone and the lighting but you can see her noggin and cute nose at the top. Jake and I were laughing when I was joking that she has Jake's nose. I think it is funny when people think that because to be honest, she still looks like an alien. I don't care though, she is my cute alien. Also since we went in at just over 17 weeks and then this one at 25 1/2 weeks it is crazy to see the difference. Before she fit on the whole screen and now all that will fit is her big head :)
Also in other good news, we got a new couch and love seat. They had a killer deal clearance sale at Ashley Furniture on the set but we couldn't decide so we looked into a few other places and I found an ad on KSL for the set for 700 dollars which was 100 dollars less. Then I went in and they said they could get it in sooner, give me 25 bucks off for paying with a check or cash, and they can hold them until we get a house (if it is soon, if not they will go to our storage unit). We are pretty excited. They are durablend which have the part leather in them so they are easy to clean. So we got both for 675 when they are like 1800 usually at Ashley Furniture.
Everything else is going really good just keeping busy and trying to have some fun. Also one more question I have been thinking about lately. Do people still register for babies or is that weird? With your first what did you buy or did you see if anyone would get it for you. I just see crazy registries online and I was wondering if people actually still do registries or do they just buy you what they want. I will be honest I never look at baby registries to get a present but I also have never had much money to get big presents. Just curious on your opinions. Also where did you splurge on baby stuff? The crib? Travel System? Clothes? Just wondering.

I never registered, but I never asked around to see if others did :) We got Rachel's crib at USA Baby in Taylorsville -it's now being used for Sara & we used it for a toddler bed for Rachel. It's the kind you can change into a crib/toddler bed/full-size bed. It was about $350, but I'd buy another one if we need it & had room for it! Don't worry too much, everything comes together when it needs to :) Good luck with the house stuff!
I never registered, and I never look at other people's registeries. Maybe that's bad, but no one used ours when we got married, so I figured that is how most people are. I think if it's your first people just assume you are going to need everything :) As far as splurging, the only thing we splurged on was a crib. We didn't have access to a hand-me-down and I wasn't comfortable buying one at DI, just because most of the older ones don't meet the new guidelines they have for cribs, plus I figured it's going to be for multiple kids so we might as well get a nice one if we have to buy one anyway.
OH and we got ours at Baby Depot. They have really great prices and some of their cribs are REALLY nice. Ours was 250 (plus 20% off, so really only about 200), and its one of those 4 in one beds too (crib, toddler, twin, etc) Also, the great thing about baby depot is they let you use the 20% off coupon that comes in the mail, or if you don't get one in the mail, just go in and buy something you need (like a pack of onesies or a lamp or something), then use your receipt and take the call in survey they have on it and you get 20% off your next purchase
That's a pretty good ultrasound pics, I'm with you, some ultrasound pics they really look like aliens, but it puts the mom at ease I think.
We have a crib that converts to a toddler bed, and it's really great, never have had a baby out of it long enough to get to use the toddler bed though. Pack and plays aren't too bad price wise, just make sure you get one that is easy to set up and lasts, those and a car seat will be your highest priced items :)
we registered at 2 places and no one got anything we registered for so if you have time do it but we liked doing it cause it was free and we got gift cards in return that we used for her. It was fun to register but not worth it for us
I think she's cute! You want to register even because you can get as much as 25% off everything on your registry. If your going to splurg on stuff my advice is to do it for baby number 1 then you will get the most use out of it. Also, carseat wise, we have a snug ride 35 and don't like it. I have used the chico keyfit 30 and it is AWESOME! More expensive but worth it.
